Transitioning from the playing field to real-world challenges, LEAP Leaders stands as a beacon for young minds keen on personal growth and practical experience. As students grow and their interests evolve, our focus shifts from on-field activities to essential life tools and entrepreneurial experiences. This mentorship program is meticulously crafted to address these evolving needs.
Core Objectives:
1. Skill Enhancement: Offering a foundation in leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving – the trifecta for a successful future.
2. Real-World Applications: Through entrepreneurial ventures and community initiatives, students witness the direct impact of their efforts.
3. Legacy of Mentorship: LEAP's founder, Eric, brings his 20-year culinary journey to the table, having mentored countless youth, many of whom have since carved impressive paths in diverse industries.
Cookie Business Project
(October - December 31):
Target Group: Middle school students.
Objective: Immerse students in entrepreneurship by facilitating the process of creating and selling cookies.
Process: Under the guidance of Eric, an acclaimed chef, students will navigate every stage of the business, from idea inception and budgeting to marketing and final sales.
Mentorship: Local entrepreneurial luminaries will be invited to share their insights, ensuring a holistic and enriched learning experience.
Pop-Up Restaurant Project
(October - December 31):
Target Group: High school students.
Objective: Prepare students with tangible life skills by conceptualizing and operationalizing a pop-up restaurant.
Process: Participants are ushered through the journey of conceptualizing the restaurant, understanding basic budgeting, first cooking and service practice and arming them with skills for future employment.
Mentorship: Alongside Eric's guidance, seasoned restaurateurs and industry professionals will be invited to share their experiences and insights, offering students an enriched perspective on the culinary world.
Community Impact:
All initiatives echo LEAP's ethos of community service. Sales profits from our projects are utilized as follows -
50% Returned to parents until their full class fees are zeroed out.
All other profits are used to support Croton on Hudson student educational initiatives, underscoring our commitment to giving back.
*all food handling done in licenced and insured commercial kitchens in accordance to Wetchester Department of Health Guidlines.
